General manager who is responsible for a product line across the entire supply chain, from product strategy to sourcing to store rollout. Heavy emphasis is placed on the ability take a general manager's perspective and the ability to be hands-on and drive results. Key activities include competitive analysis, product/price positioning, supply relations and negotiations, material management and manufacturing process improvement.
Key Requirements:
- BS Engineering or Business and MBA degree from top university
- Minimum of four to six years of relevant work experience, including hands-on experience
- Product development or product engineering in manufacturing environment
- Material management and logistics management
- Project management
- Strong analytical and financial analysis skills
- Very results-oriented with strong follow-up skills
- Team-player with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Entrepreneurial with strong desire to help build a company
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Merchandising Manager to develop overall product strategy
- Analyze product performance across entire chain
- Develop strategy to transition products through life cycle
- Manage new product introductions
- Work with Head of Sourcing to identify and source key materials and components
- Develop understanding of supply base dynamics
- Lead supplier assessments/qualification
- Work with Production Manager/Supervisor to define and develop internal capabilities required to make products
- Develop and manage good working relationship with key suppliers
- Drive continual improvement in working relationships with suppliers
- Day to day manager of all supplier relationships for specific product(s)
- Develop parameters for inventory buying and replenishment
- Work with material management team to maintain in-stock and turns goals
- Lead internal product testing and quality control
We will invest approximately 18 months developing the new manager for leadership at Blinds To Go. Development plan will be individualized, but will include time in stores understanding the customer and how product is sold and rotation into several roles in manufacturing. We will make this upfront investment so he/she can learn the business, develop key leadership skills and develop the important internal relationship needed to be successful long-term at Blinds To Go.
