Accounting and Finance Manager

Accounting and Finance Manager is the day-to-day manager of finance and accounting team responsible for generating financial reports on a timely basis. Given culture of the company, it is important that he/she be a well-rounded general manager, with a deep understanding of business, and have strong working relationships with operating general managers, in additional to having strong financial management skills.

Key Requirements:

  • BA Finance or Accounting from top university
  • Ideally, four to six years of combined relevant work experience post undergraduate.
    Ideal background would include;
    • Auditing experience with major accounting firm
    • Experience as part of finance or accounting team of retailer, consumer goods company or light manufacturer (preferred)
    • Experience managing or supervising personnel
  • Strong finance and accounting skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Hands-on person with interest in further developing general management and leadership skills
  • Entrepreneurial with strong desire to help build a company
  • Bilingual

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day manager of a strong finance and accounting team that serves as partners to operating managers
    • Help hire and develop finance people with interest in business operations
    • Push team to develop value-added relationships with operating managers
    • Use technology to automate non-value added part of finance and accounting
  • Work with key operating managers to develop and keep good financial controls and discipline within an entrepreneurial business
    • Partner with operating managers to establish prudent expense policies and processes
    • Identify opportunities for cost saving; Assist in negotiations as necessary
    • Develop and implement capital expenditure ROI tracking system
  • Lead the financial budgeting process
    • Modify and update models/systems to better reflect business operations
    • Work with operating managers to set goals and drive performance

We will invest 6-9 month to set the new manager up for success. Actual plan will be customized to the individual but will include rotating into numerous roles within our organization to learn the business and to develop the important internal relationship needed to successfully grow into this leadership role.
