Lakewood Production Manager

Front line general manager direct responsible for day-to-day operations of production facility. Requires well-rounded general manager with exceptional people management and leadership skills and a track record of driving results in a manufacturing environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of four to eight years of relevant work experience, including hands-on experience
    • Supervision of product line or department in labor-intensive business
    • Product development or product engineering or material management
  • Proven leadership ability and people development skills
  • Strong analytical skills matched with ability to be creative
  • Exceptional drive and work ethic
  • Bachelors degree (preferably in a technical field) and/or an MBA from a top tier business school
  • Additional languages such as Spanish a plus
  • Very results-oriented with strong follow-up skills
  • Team-player with very good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial with strong desire to help build a company

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage team of production supervisors day-today to achieve operating results (delivery, quality and cost)
    • Set operating priorities
    • Plan and help balance workload between departments
    • Coach, train, support supervisors as needed
    • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in production
  • Work with supplier chain managers to develop and introduce new products as needed
    • Work with supply chain managers to define and develop internal capabilities required to make products
    • Develop and test and implement new process as needed
    • Help hire and train new staff as needed
  • Serve as the chief people development manager for plant
    • Help attract and bring on-board future supervisors
    • Identify best practices in training and development
    • Mentor, coach and drive development of supervisors
    • Manage and improve the "manufacturing management training program"

We will invest 12-18 months setting up the new manager for success at Blinds To Go. Development plan will be individualized, but will include time in our stores to gain a first-hand appreciation of our customer service requirements and to develop an understanding of our people development paradigm. We will then rotate the manager into several roles in the plant. During this time the new manager will gain an invaluable understanding of the business and the key drivers of success and have the opportunity to build credibility and develop the important internal relationship needed to be successfully at Blinds To Go.
