Care & Cleaning

Wood Blinds

To keep your fine wood blinds looking their best, use a soft cloth or duster to remove dust from the slats. For long lasting beauty, occasionally treat the wood with lemon oil or any other product designed for fine wood. Avoid using harsh chemicals on or near natural wood.

Fabric Blinds

To maintain the fine quality look of the fabric, occasionally vacuum the surface or wipe with a damp sponge containing a very mild solution of soap and warm water. We do not recommend dry cleaning or immersing your blinds in water. Keep your fabric vertical blinds at least 6 inches away from all heating sources.

Vinyl Blinds

To keep your premium vinyl blinds looking their best, they should be dusted or vacuumed occasionally. They can also be wiped with a very mild solution of soap and warm water. When wiping or vaccuming, we recommend starting at the top and working your way down to avoid getting dust on the slates that you already cleaned.  Keep your vinyl vertical blinds at least 6 inches away from all heating sources.

Aluminum Blinds

To keep your premium aluminum blinds looking their best, they can be dusted or wiped occasionally with a damp sponge containing a very mild solution of soap and warm water. When wiping or vaccuming, we recommend starting at the top and working your way down to avoid getting dust on the slates that you already cleaned.

Roller, Pleated, Roman or Cellular Shades

To maintain the fine quality look of the shade, occasionally vacuum the surface or wipe with a damp sponge containing a very mild solution of soap and warm water.  We do not recommend dry cleaning or immersing your blinds in water.  To remove wrinkles, press or steam on a low setting.

Panel Tracks & Woven Wood Shades

Panel tracks can either be made of roller shade fabric or woven wood materials. To maintain the fine quality look of the roller shade fabric panels, occasionally vacuum the surface or wipe with a damp sponge containing a very mild solution of soap and warm water. For periodic cleaning of woven wood panel tracks, use a feather duster or vacuum on a low setting with a brush using light strokes over the shade.

Cascade or Serenity Sheer Shades

Occasionally vacuum the surface or wipe with a damp sponge containing a very mild solution of soap and warm water. Use a blow dryer on a cool setting to blow out debris or dust that might be stuck between the "slats" of a Serenity Shade. Avoid strong cleaners, which can damage the fabric. And never submerge them in water, as this may damage internal mechanisms.

Melody® Sheer Vertical Blinds

Vertical Sheers are delicate. We recommend that you lightly steam them to remove wrinkles, taking care not to over iron, especially where there is a solid fabric backing. If the fabric becomes stained, individual panels can be removed and taken to a professional dry cleaner.

Curtains/ Drapery

Regularly vacuum your drapery panels with a brush or upholstery attachment on a low setting to keep them free of dust. For washable fabrics, it's best to use a gentle cycle, mild detergent, and cold water to prevent damage or shrinkage. Please note that many fabrics, though washable, are not meant to be put in the dryer. It is best to air dry your curtains and drapes. To remove stubborn wrinkles, iron while still slightly damp. Before washing lined drapery, check whether both lining and main fabric are washable. Washing and care instructions are printed on the care tags of each drapery fabric.
