Hiring Senior Recruiter & HR Manager

Position Overview

Key member of the plant management team, he/she is the lead recruiter and human resource manager in the manufacturing facility and is responsible for recruiting, onboarding and helping maintain the entrepreneurial, promote-from-within culture.

Facility Description

The Lakewood New Jersey manufacturing facility warehouses, fabricates and ships one to two thousand custom-made blinds and shades daily. The 100,000 square feet facility employs roughly 200 employees and services all BTG showrooms and ecommerce sales in the US.

Salary: Negotiable 
Key Requirements:
  • Bachelors and/or MBA, preferable in human resources, psychology or business
  • Six to twelve years of relevant work experience, including:
    • Experience recruiting entry-level associates in sales, manufacturing or warehousing
    • Experience supporting warehouse, manufacturing or call-center operations
    • Operating management experience
  • Proven leadership ability and people development skills
  • Ability to be both strategic and hands-on
  • Proven leadership ability and people development skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Team-player with very good interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
  • Senior HR manager with overall accountability for recruiting and onboarding new hires for the NJ operations
    • Direct source, recruit and hire entry-level associates and management trainees
    • Work with management team to identity and recruit experienced engineer, material planners, etc. as needed
  • Help mentor and develop managers and supervisors
    • Assist in campus recruiting effort
    • Understand implement best practices in training and development
    • Mentor, coach and drive development of new hires as needed
  • Serve as key manager for non-administrative HR functions
    • Investigate and lead process of all WC incidents
    • Lead safety review audit of all operations
    • Ensure application of companywide HR process at plant

Integrating new hire into existing business and culture is important. We will work with person to develop an integration plan that sets up the new manager for success at BTG. Development plan will be individualized, and may include time in our stores to gain a first-hand appreciation of our customer service requirements and to develop an understanding of our people development paradigm.
