Another one of my favorite ways to dress up a room is with unexpected texture. Sheer Shades: The Modern Twist on Classic Elegance

Small details, like the color of the rod and finials, can also make or break the look you are going for with adding curtains. A classic color such as bronze or black pairs well with most fabrics, while a bright or shiny option, like white or polished silver, may compete too much, drawing your eye away from the big picture. Adding crystal or glass finials will dress up your hardware — like the frosting rosettes on a beautiful cake!
