Yes, they can block significant light when a liner is applied. Woven wood shades allow a great deal of light to come in if you choose to leave them unlined. However, you can customize these shades with a light-filtering privacy, or blackout liner.

You need at least 2” depth for shades to be flush with a window frame. You can still mount the shades securely with 1” depth. If you have less than 1" an outside mount is recommended.

Since all our woven wood shades are made from natural bamboo, reeds and grasses each product will be unique. Individual styles will have the natural imperfections and slight color variation, which do not detract from the beauty of the shade but rather give it a unique earthy and natural texture that makes this product so special.
